A listing price is a starting point. Buyers who need the data for a real production use case are almost always willing to pay more than the number on the page, but only if you give them a reason to pay more.
What unlocks a bigger price
- Worldwide rights instead of a single territory.
- A longer retention window than the default license allows.
- Permission to train models that will be distributed externally.
- A fixed refresh cadence written into the deal.
- Shared SLAs and a named point of contact on the seller side.
Price the terms, not just the data. A deal that lives on the base listing price is a deal where you didn't ask what the buyer actually needed.
The buyer tells you the price in the second message. You just have to read it carefully.
