Eight years of weekly SKU-level shelf price changes from six grocery chains in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with promotion flags and unit pricing.
Our category team has tracked shelf prices at six grocery chains across Germany, Austria and Switzerland for eight years. The table stores changes only: a row appears when a product's price or promotion status moves from the previous week. If you need a full weekly panel, you can forward-fill it from the deltas using the supplied script. Each row has a normalized product ID, chain code, country, category path, old and new price, unit price and a promotion flag. Chains are coded instead of named. Products that changed pack size receive a new ID, with a mapping table linking the old and new versions. Collection was thinner before 2019, covering about 40 percent fewer products. Swiss prices are in CHF and have not been converted. Regional price differences inside a chain are not captured, since each chain is represented by one reference store per country.
