Refund and Dispute Policy

Payment is held in escrow until the data is delivered. This policy explains what happens next, and what happens if something is wrong.

Effective October 31, 2026

01How payment is held

  1. The buyer pays through Stripe after a seller accepts their bid.
  2. The seller delivers the data using the delivery mode shown on the listing.
  3. The buyer confirms delivery, or the funds release automatically after 72 hours if the buyer takes no action.
  4. The seller receives the order amount less the platform commission.

02If an order is not delivered

If the seller does not deliver, the buyer should open a dispute before the release window closes. Funds stay in escrow while the dispute is reviewed.

03When you can open a dispute

  • The data was not delivered, or cannot be accessed.
  • The data is materially different from the listing, for example in its coverage, volume, format, or time period.
  • The data appears to infringe someone else's rights or to contain personal information the listing said had been removed.

04What usually does not qualify

A change of mind, a model that did not perform as you hoped, or a limitation that was disclosed on the listing is not normally grounds for a refund. Data can be copied once delivered, so we encourage you to review samples and ask questions before you pay.

05How disputes are reviewed

An administrator reviews the listing, the conversation between buyer and seller, the delivery, and any evidence either side provides. The administrator may release the funds to the seller, refund the buyer, or split the amount.

That decision settles how the escrowed funds are distributed. It does not stop either party from pursuing other legal remedies, including any rights that cannot be waived under the law where you are based.

06After funds are released

Once funds are released, the order is complete and the platform can no longer direct a refund from escrow. Any remaining claim is between the buyer and seller under their license.

Stripe processing fees may not be returned on a refund, depending on Stripe's terms.
